What you’ll learn

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Learning Outcome 1: Identify the appropriate mechanical device for cleaning or polishing the assigned floor surfaces or shampooing the carpet.
  • Learning Outcome 2: Select the appropriate PPE to perform cleaning or polishing of the hard floor surfaces with the use of the selected mechanical device or for shampooing the carpet.
  • Learning Outcome 3: Perform routine maintenance and checks on the mechanical device selected to ensure safe operation of the device.
  • Learning Outcome 4: Perform cleaning and/or polishing of floor surfaces or shampooing of carpets using mechanical devices in accordance with organisational procedures and device manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Learning Outcome 5: Display the appropriate safety signage at designated area during the course of cleaning the surroundings.
  • Learning Outcome 6: Replenish consumables cleaning supplies used to ensure smooth cleaning operations with minimum delay.
  • Learning Outcome 7: Inform appropriate person or supervisor if work activities cannot be carried out.
  • Learning Outcome 8: Return the mechanical device used after completion of assigned work.

For Classes commencing on or after 1st Jan 2024:

  1. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above will be eligible for a 50% subsidy
  2. Singapore Citizens who are 40 years old or older will benefit from a 70% subsidy.
  3. Non-Small and Medium Enterprises (non-SMEs) will receive a 50% subsidy for Singapore Citizens under 40 years old, and a 70% subsidy for those aged 40 and above.
  4. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will be eligible for a 70% subsidy for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
