    – Full understanding of road signs and traffic regulations.
    – Able to apply organisational procedures related to performing cleaning activities.
    – Able to apply industrial standards and practices relating to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    – Able to read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) Literacy Level 2.
    – Able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to the ESS Numeracy Level 2.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Learning Outcome 1:
    Identify the appropriate mechanical sweeper and other equipment to be used for pavement, grass verge and open car parks cleaning.
  • Learning Outcome 2:
    Don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with industry standards and practice before commencing cleaning work.
  • Learning Outcome 3:
    Conduct routine maintenance and checks on the mechanical sweeper to ensure safe operation.
  • Learning Outcome 4:
    Set up appropriate safety signage at designated areas before commencing cleaning operations.
  • Learning Outcome 5:
    Perform the cleaning operations using the mechanical sweeper in accordance with organisational procedures and device manufacturer’s instructions.

    Notify the appropriate person or supervisor if work activities cannot be carried out.

    Return the mechanical sweeper to its bay after completing the cleaning operation.
  • Learning Outcome 8:
    Refill consumable cleaning supplies as required after each cleaning work to ensure future cleaning operations can be performed without delay.

Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

For Classes commencing on or after 1st Jan 2024:

  1. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above will be eligible for a 50% subsidy
  2. Singapore Citizens who are 40 years old or older will benefit from a 70% subsidy.
  3. Non-Small and Medium Enterprises (non-SMEs) will receive a 50% subsidy for Singapore Citizens under 40 years old, and a 70% subsidy for those aged 40 and above.
  4. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will be eligible for a 70% subsidy for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
